Mitchell is an 11-year-old boy who was diagnosed with ALL- acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Mitchell loves building with LEGOS, watching super hero movies and playing sports like soccer and basketball. His main interest lies in playing with LEGOS so he chose for his wish to be a one-of-a-kind experience at LEGOLAND in San Diego, California.
When Mitchell was first diagnosed with ALL he began a LEGO fund so that he could save money to spend on his favorite toys. He finds the
never-ending options of things you can build with LEGOS fascinating. His one true wish was to see all the incredible LEGO creations available everywhere you turn inside LEGOLAND. There are so many things to see and do at this amazing California park! It offers over 120 acres of rides, interactive attractions, shows and building projects…all made out of LEGOS!
Mitchell and his family traveled to California in style and luxury and stayed nearby LEGOLAND for six fun-filled days. Make-A-Wish arranged for Mitchell to meet with the Lego Master builder who spent several hours with Mitchell and his family showing them the inner-workings of LEGOLAND. He received a special behind-the-scenes look at how LEGOS are made and was able to meet many of the people who create their fascinating LEGO displays.
During their free time, Mitchell and his family visited the San Diego Zoo, shopped at the Sea Port Village, toured the Cabrillo National Monument and spent time at the many beaches. Everyone enjoyed all the time they were able to spend relaxing and having fun together.
Mitchell’s wish was a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience. He was able to spend quality time with his parents and siblings, which provided them all with time away from their many hospital visits, to reconnect as a family. THANK YOU for your incredible support to make life-affirming wishes like Mitchell’s come true!
