Rock for Wishes
Thank you for giving hope, strength and joy to Northeast Wisconsin children with life-threatening medical conditions through your continued support of Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Wisconsin. We are so grateful to you for once again hosting the incredible Rock for Wishes all-ages concert with proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation. With your incredible leadership, the event has gained a lot of popularity and raised a record-breaking $10,053.00 in 2012! Through the support of compassionate donors like you, a wish come true will help hundreds of children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their medical conditions. We are thrilled to present you with these gold stars for your generous support in helping to make Beaumont’s, Frehley’s and Nicole’s wishes come true.
Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Wisconsin has been working with caring individuals like you, businesses and community groups all over the state since 1984 to help children and their families during dark and challenging times. Last year alone, we granted a record-breaking 325 wishes, and now nearly 4,600 wish families can attest to the transformational power of a wish, resulting for many in a turning point in the fight against their children’s illnesses.
“One of the best things about Madison’s wish was seeing both of our kids so happy and full of excitement, like kids should be and feel,” said Madison’s parents after returning from her wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort. “It was as if time stood still. I wish I could have bottled their happiness.”
More than 400 Wisconsin children like Madison will be diagnosed this year with a life-threatening medical condition, and there are currently more than 260 wishes in progress throughout Wisconsin. Thanks to you, more children like these will discover the power of a wish. Alayah wishes to go to Sesame Street and Charles wishes to go to the NCAA Final Four Tournament. Rebecca wishes to meet Eminem while Ian wishes to meet Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward. George wishes to go to Hawaii and Marissa, Austin and Brinley wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort.
A wish improves a child’s state of mind replacing fear with happiness and helping him or her feel like a normal kid again. On behalf of wish families, our Board of Directors and Staff of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin, we thank YOU for your heartfelt commitment to the Make-A-Wish® mission.
Beaumont was diagnosed at birth with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. His life-threatening medical conditions have severely limited this seven-year-old’s physical development as well as caused permanent damage to his brain tissue due to the recurring seizures he experiences. Beaumont has been in the hospital more often than he’s been out of it this past year and his periods of illness have become more frequent. When healthy, Beaumont’s laugh can brighten an entire room.
Beaumont likes to be around lots of people and feeds off of their positive energy. Despite being in a wheelchair and experiencing visual impairment, Beaumont likes to spend his time outside, just enjoying the weather, the breeze or the sun on his face. Beaumont loves water, bright lights, animals, the sounds of nature and animated television shows. Beaumont wishes to go to Walt Disney World® Resort and thanks to your generous support we were able to grant his wish just before Christmas!
This is Beaumont’s first trip anywhere and we ensured that he and his family were treated like royalty from start to finish. They checked into their own private villa at Give Kids The World Village where they spent an entire week forming truly special memories. This village is an incredible destination and was created specifically for our wish families with special activities planned every day of the week.
Beaumont and his family enjoyed a very special dinner at the Crystal Palace where Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger & Eeyore hang out! He was able to enjoy a delicious meal with his favorite Disney characters, collect their autographs in his autograph book and take pictures with each of them. Beaumont and his family also received passes to Magic Kingdom®, Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Park, Epcot®, Disney’s Hollywood Studios™, SeaWorld, Universal’s Islands of Adventure® and Universal Studios Florida®. They had an incredible week filled with magical memories that will last a lifetime.
Beaumont’s wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort was such an incredible experience for his entire family. It gave Beaumont the chance to experience so many new things like seeing all the animals at SeaWorld and meeting the Disney characters. Beaumont’s wish experience helped bring his family closer together and give them a much needed break from the difficult realities of their daily lives. Thank you for your generous ongoing support of Make-A-Wish and for all you do to bring such joy to these incredible wish kids and their families!
