Brad Christenson
Rock for Wishes

Dear Brad:

Thank you for helping give Wisconsin children with life-threatening medical conditions hope, strength and joy. We are so grateful for your ongoing support of Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Wisconsin through your annual Rock for Wishes fundraising event. It is such an exciting all ages concert event! We are thrilled to present you with gold stars for your generous support in helping to make Quenten’s, Jacob’s and Mara’s wishes come true.

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin has been working with caring individuals like you, businesses and community groups all over the state since 1984 to help children and their families during one of the most challenging times of life. More than 4,200 wish families have experienced the power of a wish, resulting for many in a turning point in their fight against their illnesses.

“The wish was the light at the end of the tunnel,” said wish child Andrew’s mom after his wish to go to Atlantis in the Bahamas. “It gave us hope and a distraction to help time pass quicker. Wishes really do come true!”

More than 400 Wisconsin children like Andrew will be diagnosed this year with a life-threatening medical condition, and there are currently more than 250 wishes in progress throughout Wisconsin. Thanks to you, more children like these will discover the power of a wish come true. Edward wishes to go to the Milwaukee Brewers Spring Training, while Kalyn wishes to go to Nickelodeon Resort. Tyler wishes to meet Aaron Rodgers and Colin wishes to go to Sesame Street. Megan wishes to have a service dog and Bryce, Joseph and Nora wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort.

A wish improves a child’s state of mind replacing fear with happiness and helping he or she feel like a normal kid again. “Words cannot express our thanks and gratitude,” said Avery’s mom after Avery’s wish to have a fairy playroom came true. “Her wish is more than we could have ever imagined!” On behalf of wish families like Avery’s, our Board of Directors and Staff of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin, we thank YOU for your heartfelt commitment to the Make-A-Wish® mission.

Warmest Wishes,

Kris Teofilo
Regional Director

About Mara

Mara is a seven-year-old girl who enjoys dancing, playing Wii and Nintendo games, swimming and playing softball. She is a very active young girl who is sadly not doing very well right now. Mara was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and her prognosis is not very good. However, she still does as much as she can to stay active and involved in school activities and with her family. The people closest to her say her middle name is Fun. Mara’s wish was to go on a shopping spree to the Mall of America and thanks to your support we were able to make her wish come true very recently.

Mara and her family arrived in Minnesota and checked into the Radisson Hotel. The hotel had incredible amenities, including its very own water park and frequents shuttle rides to and from Mall of America. The Mall of America is an absolutely huge place to shop and explore. In addition to four main department stores, the mall has over 500 other specialty stores in which to shop.

Mara and her family also received passes to the Sea Life Aquarium which is home to the world’s largest underground aquarium. They enjoyed more than just shopping while at Mall of America. Mara and her family also had dinner at the Rainforest Café amongst the trees, animated animals, waterfalls and occasional thunderstorm. Mara especially enjoyed shopping at the American Girl doll store and afterwards, had lunch at the American Girl Bistro where they treat American Girl dolls just as special as they do their living guests.

Thank you for making Mara’s s wish come true! Thanks to your generous support, Mara special wish experience filled her and her parents with great happiness and treasured memories that will last a lifetime.
